Welcome to Naval Base Ventura County

NBVC is major shore warfighting platform; providing sustained ready forces to deploy, fight, and win. Composed of three operating facilities: Point Mugu, Port Hueneme and San Nicolas Island and home of the Pacific Seabees, West Coast E-2D Hawkeyes, 3 warfare centers and 110 tenant commands.

NBVC is strategically located in the coastal area of Southern California which provides direct access to the Point Mugu Sea Range, the largest instrumented Sea Range in the world. NBVC is home to three warfare centers: Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center PHD, and Naval Facilities Engineering Command Engineering & Expeditionary Warfare Center.

  • 2023 US Armed Forces Triathlon Championship

    WASHINGTON - With a dominating performance, the All-Navy Triathlon men’s team won gold at the 2023 Armed Forces Triathlon Championship held at Naval Base Ventura County’s Point Mugu Beach on April 1. LCDR Kyle Hooker led the All-Navy Team by finishing 1st place overall with a time of 1:52:22. This is Hooker’s sixth Armed Forces Triathlon individual gold medal.
