UPDATES:
9/21/2023 - Security Exercises and Blank Gunfire - On Friday, September 22 from 2:00pm-4:30pm Navy personnel will be conducting security boat exercises inside Anaheim Bay. The exercises may include the use of blank machine gun fire, which can sound like actual gunshots from a distance. No closures of the public boat channel are anticipated during this event.
9/18/2023 - Anaheim Bay Oil Spill Exercise and Closure. On Tuesday, September 19 from 8:00am-10:00am the California Department of Fish and Wildlife will be conducting an oil spill response exercise inside Anaheim Bay. During the event oil spill booms will be emplaced across the public boat channel, in order to simulate the protection of Huntington Harbour and the Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge from an offshore oil spill. Closures of the public boat channel are likely during this time.
9/8/2023 - The Department of the Navy is announcing a public meeting and a public review and comment period for the Proposed Plan to clean up a waste disposal site at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Detachment Fallbrook, California. For more information visit the project web page HERE.
Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, California and its Detachments - located in Fallbrook and Norco, California - exist to provide weapons storage, loading, maintenance, and assessment support to ships of the United States Pacific Fleet. Our facilities also support Coast Guard vessels and Marine Corps units stationed afloat and ashore.
