The health and well-being of Sailors, their families and civilians are the Navy’s top priority, including those assigned to overseas Navy installations.

Whether the drinking water is supplied by host nation water systems or produced by Navy installation distillation plants, the Navy ensures that the water that ends up at your faucet is safe to drink, according to U.S. standards.  There are a few installations that are currently unable to meet the drinking water standards and bottled water, therefore, is provided to all personnel.

Since 1999, as a result of the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act, installations Navy-wide have provided annual “Drinking Water Consumer Confidence Reports” to allow service members, their families, and our civilians to know what is in the water they’re drinking, just as local communities in the U.S. provide annual Consumer Confidence Reports to their residents.  These reports also demonstrate the Navy’s continued commitment to provide high-quality drinking water.
