CAPT Carlson assumed the role of Commanding Officer for Naval Base San Diego March 24, 2021. As a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, he received a Master of Arts in National Security Affairs as well as graduating the Naval War College Joint Professional Military Education program.

Commander Oliveria assumed his position as Executive Officer for Naval Base San Diego in September 2022.

Command Master Chief, NAVBASE San Diego

Command Master Chief Cantorna, a native of Earlimart, Calif., enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1997. After he completed basic training, he graduated from Hospital Corps “A” School in Great Lakes, Ill., and Field Medical Service School at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
