Our Mission - We are One Team, One Voice, and One Mission. Our customers recognize the Safety department as the experts in Shore Installation Management. The Safety department is the best at efficiently delivering the right level of safety support services to meet the needs of customer mission requirements, risk reduction, and support to the fleet, family and fighter.

Our Vision - To enhance our Nation’s combat readiness through efficient and effective  management of our shore installations, while preserving the critical resources necessary to secure the future of our force.

Safety Department’s Mission Statement - To prevent mishaps, conserve human and material resources through constant pursuit of safety, both on and off duty, by using safety training experiences and practices to lead by example.

Naval Base San Diego is dedicated to the DON safety vision of critical initiatives and its cultural philosophy as we fulfill our responsibility of maintaining mission readiness. NBSD is proactive in its approach to the hazard identification and abatement of Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) deficiencies. The personnel onboard NBSD are our most precious asset and we are committed to providing the best possible service to the fleet, fighter, and family.
