Commander Tristan V. Oliveria

Commander Tristan V. Oliveria immigrated to San Francisco from the Philippines and enlisted in the Navy in 1993 as an Electronics Technician.
 
His operational sea tours include his first tour as a Radar Technician on board USS REUBEN JAMES (FFG 57), as a Division Officer on board USS INGRAHAM (FFG 61), the Operations Officer on board USS RENTZ (FFG 46) and USS ANTIETAM (CG 54), the Strike Officer for Commander, Carrier Strike Group NINE embarked on board USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), and as the Damage Control Assistant on board USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76), forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan.
 
His shore tours include assignment as the Lead Exercise Planner and Fleet Scheduler at Naval Forces Europe/Africa, SIXTH Fleet, as well as Special Assistant to Commander, Allied Joint Forces Command Naples, Italy, and as the Director of Damage Control and Firefighting at Surface Warfare Schools Command San Diego.  His most recent tour was as the Executive Officer for Naval Support Facility Deveselu, Romania. In 2022, he was assigned to Naval Base San Diego as the Executive Officer. 
 
Commander Oliveria earned his Bachelors of Science in Physical Oceanography from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2001 and his Masters of Science in Systems Engineering from the Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey in 2006.
