Command Master Chief Roske is a native of Altoona, IA, where he graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1994. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy through the Delayed Entry Program, and reported for basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes in January 1996. Following recruit training, he reported to Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center San Diego where he completed Sonar Technician (Surface) 'A' school and MK-116 Underwater Fire Control Technician 'C' school.
Upon completion of training, he reported aboard USS CALLAGHAN (DDG 994) homeported in Everett, WA. His follow-on afloat assignments include USS ANTIETAM (CG 54), USS GRIDLEY (DDG 101) PRECOM Crew, and USS GARY (FFG 51) DECOM crew.
Ashore, he has completed assignments at Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center San Diego, Naval Ocean Processing Facility Whidbey Island Washington, and Afloat Training Group San Diego. He was selected into the Command Senior Chief Program in 2017, and completed his first Command Master Chief tour with the “Black Knights” of VFA-154, NAS Lemoore, CA. He is currently assigned to Naval Air Facility El Centro, CA where he reported for duty in May, 2021.
He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 203, Orange), Naval Leadership and Ethics Center CMC/COB Course (Class 186), and holds an Associate of Science degree in Electronics Engineering. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards. He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Integrated Undersea Surveillance Specialist breast insignias, and holds Master Training Specialist and Afloat Training Specialist designations.
