Lieutenant Commander Taylor is a native of Thomson, Georgia. She received her commission after completing Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, March 2011.
Lieutenant Commander Taylor’s first assignment was aboard USS CARNEY (DDG 64) home ported in Mayport, Florida from May 2011 to November 2013, where she was designated a Surface Warfare Officer. She served as the Gunnery Division Officer and the Command’s Legal Officer. During this assignment she completed one Fifth Fleet deployment.
In December of 2013, Lieutenant Commander Taylor reported aboard USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), home ported in San Diego, California where she served as the Auxiliaries Officer and earned her qualification as Engineering Officer of the Watch. During this tour, she was selected for resignation as a Human Resources Officer.
Lieutenant Commander Taylor reported as the Officer in Charge, Personnel Support Detachment Okinawa, Japan and Customer Service Desk Chinhae, Korea in August 2015 where she managed 26 Military and 7 Civilians in the maintenance of 3,200 service records and pay accounts. Additionally, she served as the local advisor in areas of personnel, pay, and passenger transportation.
In July 2017, Lieutenant Commander Taylor reported to Navy Region Southwest in San Diego, where she was a Manpower Analyst and Individual Augmentee Coordinator. During this tour, she earned her Human Resources Command Qualification.
Lieutenant Commander Taylor reported to Commander Naval Air Pacific in May 2020 as the Deputy Force Manpower Officer. As the Deputy N12 she was responsible for conducting force manpower for 109,000 billets assigned to 421 aviation commands across the Pacific and Atlantic AOR.
Lieutenant Commander Taylor has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Paine College and a Master of Science in Human Resource Administration from Central Michigan University. She is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) by Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
She is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Metal, Navy Commendation Medal (two), Navy Achievement Medal (two), and numerous other campaign service and unit decorations
