Command Senior Chief Paul Workman, a native of San Diego, California, began his military career in 2002 when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.

Upon completion of the Missile Technician Pipeline in Kings Bay, GA in 2003, he reported to his first command aboard the USS ALASKA Blue Crew (SSBN 732). He rose through the ranks serving aboard USS OHIO Gold Crew (SSGN 726), and USS TEXAS (SSN 775).  He also served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Pacific Partnership 2024-2 aboard USNS CITY OF BISMARCK (T-EPF 9). 

His shore assignments include the Naval Ordnance Test Unit in Cape Canaveral, Florida; Naval Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee and Commander, Naval Air Forces Pacific in San Diego, California, where he served as Senior Enlisted Leader.

In 2025, he was selected for the Command Senior Chief program, and was selected to serve as the Command Senior Chief at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach.

His personal awards include Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards). He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 267 (Gold Group).
