Commander Jamie French

Commander Jamie “Curbie” French grew up in Los Alamitos, California.  She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics from the United States Naval Academy in 2003.  CDR French earned a Master’s of Science degree in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2013.

CDR French entered aviation training and received her aviation warfare “Wings of Gold” in September 2005 after which she was assigned to her first operational tour with HELICOPTER ANTI-SUBMARINE SQUADRON LIGHT FOUR FIVE (HSL-45) in San Diego, California.

Sea tours include USS BOXER (LHD-4) and Department Head and Officer-in-Charge at HELICOPTER MARITIME STRIKE SQUADRON THREE FIVE (HSM-35).

Ashore CDR French served as Flag Aide to Commander, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR).  Additionally, she was a flight instructor at the Fleet Replacement Squadron, HELICOPTER MARITIME STRIKE SQUADRON FOUR ONE (HSM-41) and Force NATOPS Officer at Commander, Naval Air Force U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNAF).

Most recently CDR French served as the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Officer at Commander, Navy Region Southwest, managing and overseeing SAPR policy.

CDR French’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (second award), Navy Commendation Medal (third award), and Navy Achievement Medal (third award), along with various campaign and unit awards.
