Captain Kyle Caldwell

Originally from the town of Winnsboro, South Carolina, Captain Kyle Caldwell enlisted in the U.S. Navy in October 1990. After serving as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate for more than ten years and rising to the rate of Chief Petty Officer, he was commissioned as a Limited Duty Officer in January 2001.
 
Following his commissioning, he reported aboard USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), and later USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76), as the Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment Maintenance Officer. Additional at-sea assignments included Personnel Exchange Program Officer, French Aircraft Carrier CHARLES DEGAULLE (R-91) in Toulon, France; Aircraft Handler aboard USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70); and Weapons Officer aboard USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72).
 
CAPT Caldwell’s shore assignments include Training Officer and Officer-in-charge at the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) Det. Lakehurst, NJ; Fleet Liaison, Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment Program Office at Commander, Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, MD; Force Air Systems Officer at Commander, Naval Air Forces, Pacific Fleet (COMNAVAIRPAC), San Diego, CA; Executive and Commanding Officer of CNATT Unit North Island; and his most recent assignment, returning to COMNAVAIRPAC as Force Air Systems Officer (East and West Coast).
 
CAPT Caldwell is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a BS in Aerospace Engineering. He earned his Graduate Degree in Acquisitions and Contracts Management with distinction from the Florida Institute of Technology and obtained his Joint Professional Military Education Phase I from the Naval War College, including his second Graduate Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies. He is also a graduate of the Defense Language Institute (French) and is a member of the Acquisition Corps with Life Cycle Logistics and Program Management Level III certifications.
 
His personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), Navy Commendation Medal (8 awards), Navy Achievement Medal (5 awards), French Commendation, and various campaign medals. He is a recipient of Navy and Marine Corps Leadership Awards onboard USS RONALD REAGAN, USS CARL VINSON and USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN.
