CMDC Jared Eckert

Chief Eckert is a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 2010 Chief Eckert enlisted in the United States Navy and reported to basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, followed by CTT "A" School in Pensacola, Florida. His first duty assignment was on USS O’Kane (DDG 77) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  In April 2014 he reported to Personnel Exchange Program North America – Ottawa Canada. In 2018 he reported to Pascagoula, Mississippi to the Pre-Commission unit Portland (LPD-17) and was part of the team to certify and commission USS Portland (LPD-17) . In December of 2020 he checked onboard Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake.
 
Chief Eckert was appointed as Command Chief, Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in April 2022.    

Chief Eckert is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 252, Red) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and an Associates in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. Additionally, he is qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and numerous unit and campaign awards.
