Commander Kevin Guldner is a native of Ballston Spa, New York. Graduating in 2008 from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media, Arts, and Communication, he received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps, and was designated a Naval Aviator in 2011.
At sea, Guldner has served multiple FDNF tours in Japan and deployed to all Fleet areas of operations, including two deployments flying combat missions over Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria in support of OPERATIONS INHERENT RESOLVE, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL and RESOLUTE SUPPORT. His sea assignments include line division officer with VFA-195 aboard USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73), assistant operations officer with CVW-9 aboard USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN-74), and operations officer with VFA-102 aboard USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN-76).
Ashore, he served as operational test director at VX-9 developing and testing multiple F/A-18 air-to-surface weapon systems prior to Fleet release, and is a graduate of the Naval Aviation Safety School. Most recently, he served as installation operations officer at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, and has moved to the position of installation executive officer.
Commander Guldner’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with Gold Stars), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with Gold Stars), as well as multiple unit and service awards. He is married with two children.
