CMDCM Frederick J. Martinez

Master Chief Frederick J. Martinez is a native of Fresno, California. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and reported to Recruit Training Command in February 1994. He arrived at Naval Construction Training Center in June 1994, where he attended Utilitiesman “A” school. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University.

Master Chief Martinez first duty assignment was Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) THREE, where he deployed to Rota, Spain, San Diego, and Bahrain. He reported to Construction Battalion Unit 406, Lemoore, California, from September 1998 to December 2002. Martinez completed Refrigeration “C” school and received the 6504 NEC. He then transferred to NMCB FOUR where he served as crew leader, project supervisor, and battalion quality control chief while deployed to Iraq in support of Iraqi Freedom. Following his battalion tour he was selected to be an instructor at Naval Construction Training Center, Port Hueneme, California, in January 2006, where he served as the Utilitiesman schoolhouse director and promoted to Chief and Senior Chief. He checked into NMCB-40 in July 2009 where he held the positions of convoy security elements commander, battalion training chief, assistant officer in charge, and the battalion operations chief and deployed to Marmal, Afghanistan. He reported to the Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 303 Lemoore Ca in 2012 - 2013, advancing to Master Chief he transferred to NMCB THREE where he served as company chief, and assistant officer in charge in Cebu, Philippines. He reported to Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering 2015-2017 serving as the N51 integration team leader. Martinez was selected for the Command Master Chief Program in 2017 and checked into NMCB FIVE as the Command Master Chief in May 2017 to December 2019. Transferring to Center for Seabees Facilities and Engineering where he served from December 2019 to September 2021.

Currently, Master Chief Martinez serves as the Command Master Chief for Naval Air Station Lemoore California.

Master Chief Martinez is Seabee Combat Warfare. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards) Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (seven awards), Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), Navy Unit Commendation, Battle Efficiency “E” ribbon (eight awards), Good Conduct Medal (six awards), National Defense Service Medal (two awards), Iraqi Campaign Medal with EGA, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary, Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service ribbon (seventeen awards), NATO Medal, Expert Rifleman Medal, and Sharpshooter Award.
