Captain Mike Haymon

Captain Haymon enlisted in the United States Navy as a Naval Aircrewman in 1998 after graduation from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. He was commissioned an Ensign in 2001 after completion of Officer Candidate School and designated a Naval Flight Officer in 2003.
 
He holds Master of Science degrees from the University of San Diego in Global Leadership and the National Defense University Eisenhower School in National Resource Strategy with a concentration in Global Supply Chain and Logistics. He is a Level III Joint Qualified Officer.
 
His sea and operational duty assignments include: Instructor Tactical Coordinator & Mission Commander, Patrol Squadron FOUR ZERO (VP-40); Assistant Navigator, USS HARRY S TRUMAN (CVN-75); Squadron Department Head, Patrol Squadron ONE (VP-1), Commanding Officer, Patrol Squadron TWO SIX (VP-26), and Commander Task Group 67.1. Captain Haymon has completed deployments in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom and all of the geographic Combatant Commanders.
 
His Shore Assignments included: Weapons and Tactics Instructor, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing TEN (CPRW-10); Politico-Military Planner, Joint Staff Strategy, Plans, and Policy Directorate (J5); Deputy Executive Assistant to the Director, Joint Staff Strategy, Plans, and Reconnaissance Wing TEN (CPRW-10); Politico-Military Planner, Joint Staff Strategy, Plans, and Policy Directorate (J5); Deputy Executive Assistant to the Director, Joint Staff Strategy, Plans, and Policy Directorate (J5); Platforms Branch Chief (J32), Joint Staff Operations Directorate (J3); Mission Assurance Team Chief/Navy Service Advisor, Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
 
Captain Haymon assumed command of Naval Air Station Fallon in March 2025.
