Dennis P. Keck served in the United States Navy for over 20 years. He graduated from the State University of New York Maritime College in 1995, receiving his commission and an unlimited U.S. Coast Guard Third Mate’s license.
His primary assignment in the Navy was as a Surface Warfare Officer. He served in various afloat and shore billets, with his final sea tour aboard USS HIGGINS.
In 2005, Mr. Keck was selected as a Shore Installation Management (SIM) Officer, after which he was assigned to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Installations and Environment) staff. He then served as Executive Officer of two installations, including Naval Base San Diego, the Navy’s premier west coast surface base.
Following his Navy retirement, Mr. Keck served the County of San Diego as Deputy Director of Facility Operations, responsible for repairing and maintaining more than 500 facilities across the County’s 3,200 square miles. In 2017, Mr. Keck joined the Navy team again as the N3, Director of Operations, for Navy Region Southwest. In this capacity he was responsible for the Anti-Terrorism Force Protection, Federal Fire, Emergency Management, Air Operations, Port Operations and Regional Safety programs supporting 10 Navy Installations throughout the Southwest.
Mr. Keck currently serves as Navy Region Southwest’s Executive Director.
