Lieutenant Commander Cody W. Davis

Lieutenant Commander Cody Davis is a native of Pell City, Alabama and reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes in December 2003. He then reported to Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Torpedoman “A” school. He graduated as Manga Cum Laude with an Associate in Economics and a Bachelor in Justice Administration from Hawaii Pacific University in 2011 and a Master of Science in Human Resources from Central Michigan University in 2013. He was commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer Program in April 2013.

His first sea tour was onboard USS OLYMPIA (SSN 717), where he completed all his in-rate qualifications and conducted a deployment to the Indo-Pacific, a Dual Media Discharge and Engineering Refueling/Overhaul. His follow on tour was at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY), where he served as the C930 Leading Petty Officer and C900 Department Leading Petty Officer. Here he was selected as the PHNSY, NAVSEA, and VCNO Sailor of the Year in 2012. During his tour, PHNSY received the Department of Defense Mason Award for the best Depot Level Maintenance Organization across all military services.
His first officer assignment was onboard USS FRANK CABLE (AS 40), which was forward deployed in Guam, where he served as the Weapons Handling Officer, Electrical/Electronic Division Officer, Electrical Martial Officer and Weight Test Division Officer. Here he completed multiple deployments to U.S. Fifth and Seventh Fleets to support forward deployed Submarines and Surface Ships. His next assignment was on USS WEST VIRGINIA (SSBN 736), where he served as the Assistant Weapons Officer and Tactical Systems Officer, completed six strategic patrols and a successful Follow-on Command Evaluation Test (FCET) of the Trident-II missile system. His follow on assignment was at COMSUBRON ELEVEN as the Squadron Weapons Officer and Antiterrorism Officer where he was responsible for the tactical readiness, oversight, and training of Fast Attack Submarines, Floating Dry-dock ARCO, and Undersea Rescue Command. In April 2022, he reported to Naval Base Point Loma as the Executive Officer.

Lieutenant Commander Davis has earned his enlisted and officer Submarine Dolphins, as well as his Surface Warfare Officer’s and Deep Submergences pin. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (two awards), as well as numerous unit and deployment awards.
