LCDR Claire Born is a native of Kailua, Hawaii. She graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Comparative Politics and was commissioned as a Navy Pilot.LCDR Claire Born is a native of Kailua, Hawaii. She completed Primary Training at VT-27 in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Advanced Training at HT-18 in Milton, Florida, earning her wings in November 2011. She completed FRS training at HSC-3 in San Diego, California. She earned her Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC) and Anti-Surface Warfare (ASUW) Level III qualifications on her sea duty tour with HSC-4 out of San Diego, California, where she served as Powerplants Division Officer, Assistant Training Officer, and Squadron Readiness (DRRS-N) Officer.
Her first shore assignment was to Millington, Tennessee, where she served as the Flag Aide to Commander, Navy Personnel Command, and as Knowledge Manager for the Assistant Commander, Navy Personnel Command for Career Management (PERS-4). During this assignment, she laterally transferred to the Human Resources Community and earned her certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. Her follow-on HR assignments included Flag Aide to the HR Community Leader and Director, DoD SAPRO, and Lead Enlisted Accessions Planner at NETC N3.
LCDR Born has been awarded various personal decorations, unit and service awards.
